Originally released in late 1998, David Gray’s fourth album White Ladder didn’t become a massive breakout until the ubiquitous radio hit ‘Babylon’ came out in early 2000. It was later named the fifth biggest-selling album of the noughties in the UK, with the further singles ‘Please Forgive Me’, ‘This Year’s Love’, ‘Sail Away’ and Soft Cell cover ‘Say Hello, Wave Goodbye’ also becoming hits.
