Pause was the breakthrough record from Four Tet aka Kieran Hebden who had previously released as part of post-rock group Fridge as well as his first Four Tet album Dialogue. It marks the beginning of his blending of acoustic and neo-classical instrumentation with electronica which would forge the folktronica movement of the early 2000s. Still one of the best records of its era.
