Serving as the official soundtrack to the documentary *All Gates Open: In Search of Absolute Elsewhere*, the release captures the earliest sonic sketches that eventually fed into the band’s *Absolute Elsewhere* era. Recorded in 2021, these four expansive pieces reveal a more meditative, synth-driven and cinematic side of the Denver quartet.

Rather than riffs and blast beats, the album leans into slow-evolving textures, modular synthesis and hypnotic progression. The result is a spacious, almost pastoral listening experience that contrasts sharply with the band’s reputation, often described by the band themselves as the “yang energy” to the darker atmosphere of *Timewave Zero*.
