Connan Mockasin has long thrived on unpredictability, whether bending genres or collaborating with the likes of James Blake, MGMT and Charlotte Gainsbourg. After tours with Radiohead and the Finn family, the self-styled R’n’B surrealist expanded his cult following with Caramel, an album recorded almost entirely in a Tokyo hotel room over the course of a month.
