Description
Few hip-hop albums have achieved the modern classic status of *Run The Jewels 2*. Originally released in 2014, the second collaboration between Killer Mike and El-P took everything that made their debut special and amplified it—harder beats, sharper lyricism, bigger hooks and an even greater sense of urgency. Widely named Hip-Hop Album of the Year by publications including Pitchfork, Rolling Stone and Complex, *RTJ2* remains one of the defining rap records of the 2010s.
From the explosive opener “Jeopardy” through fan favourites such as “Oh My Darling Don’t Cry”, “Blockbuster Night Pt. 1”, “Lie, Cheat, Steal” and the incendiary Zack de la Rocha collaboration “Close Your Eyes (And Count To Fuck)”, the album balances razor-sharp social commentary with undeniable chemistry between its two MCs. The production is dense, futuristic and aggressive, while Killer Mike and El-P deliver some of the strongest performances of their careers.
This 2026 reissue brings *RTJ2* back into print as a single LP edition for the first time. The release restores the celebrated Gangsta Boo appearance on “Love Again (Akinyele Back)” and includes the bonus cut “Blockbuster Night Pt. 2” featuring Despot and Wiki, making this one of the most complete vinyl editions of the album available.
